Bringing Fairtrade to life for kids
Last reviewed on 09 August 2018
Fairtrade is a fantastic gateway to engage young people with Co-op and it’s part of the school curriculum.
This year we’re excited to support the Fairtrade Foundation’s Schools Awards, helping to encourage students to see the difference Fairtrade makes.
Alongside the Fairtrade Foundation, we’ve created some simple resources you can use in school to add real life examples.
Banana assembly (30-50 minutes)
An interactive session for primary school children focusing on Fairtrade bananas and how they help communities.
A Fair Supply Chain (45-60 minutes)
A lesson or assembly for Key Stage 2 & 3 (years 5-9) focussing on the Fairtrade supply chain and the impact it has on communities.
Around the Store Fairtrade Workshop (20-45 minutes)
A short session for primary school children based in store to allow pupils to explore which products are Fairtrade.
How else can I support schools to explore Fairtrade?
A collection of ideas using Fairtrade if doing a full lesson or assembly isn’t quite right for you.
